Click here for a video demonstration of flexion-distraction technique.
I have been using the Flexion-Distraction technique since I was a student doctor back in Chiropractic College (1993). I have found flexion-distraction technique to be invaluable in treating my patients suffering from herniated or bulged discs, Sciatica and Neuropathy. Using this conservative technique along with physiotherapies, I have found that certain patients recover much faster than those who receive traditional chiropractic adjustments or spinal decompression alone.
Flexion-Distraction Technique was originally developed by Dr. James M. Cox, which is based on the application of small, precise amounts of flexion and axial distraction to the part of the spine experiencing disc compression or herniation. As the vertebrae in question are gently pulled away from each other, negative pressure draws the herniated or bulging disc back into position, relieving nerve pressure and pain and moving much-needed fluids back into the disc. The Cox flexion distraction technique is a remarkably simple and comfortable experience for most patients and requires a special flexion-distraction adjusting table to perform.
If you have been suffering from back and leg pain (or numbness) due to a herniated disc, call my office and schedule an evaluation to see if you are a candidate to receive the flexion-distraction technique. You could be nearly pain-free and back to physical activity in as little as 6 weeks! (239) 243-8735.
