These first two weeks of January, Erin and I have been training a new employee and a student intern.
One of the topics I train all employees on, is how to ask for referrals. As I was discussing this with the student intern she asked why is it important to ask for referrals.
Why I ask for your referrals
I love helping people!
You don’t go into the health care field unless you love people and you love helping people. Hey, my husband is an IT guy and he gets really excited when he writes some fantastic piece of code or automation script – that’s his thing. He actually prefers to work alone and the less interaction (sometimes) he has with clients and co-workers on a day to day basis the better he performs. I’m just the opposite. I love to meet new people. I love hearing about their lives and their families and I love helping them to overcome health related obstacles and challenges so that they can live better lives. Often times that extends to helping their spouse, children, grandparents, aunts & uncles, neighbors & co-workers. Doesn’t it make you feel good when you’ve been able to help someone in a significant or even a small way?
Many times the benefits and results to my patients is LIFE Changing. Have you read through some of the testimonials from current and former patients? Often times these folks have been to multiple practitioners and have suffered for months or years before a friend or family member encouraged them to call me for Chiropractic Care, Acupuncture, and Nutritional or Weight Loss services.
I had been struggling with back pain for several years. I have tried OTC meds, Prescription drugs, and back injections. My doctor told me I probably needed surgery, yet he couldn’t tell me what was wrong, and I couldn’t understand what surgery was going to fix. He then recommended physical therapy which I tried for over 11 months. Nothing relieved my pain for more than a day or two at the most, and the pain was constant, day in and day out. Then my wife suggested that I see Dr. Hoch. I had little hope anyone would be able to help me, but my wife begged me to go and I’m now so glad that I did! I have had a very positive experience with Dr. Hoch. She recommended acupuncture and spinal adjustments, and some very specific stretches. Since getting treated by Dr. Hoch, I’ve enjoyed significant pain relief and a measureable improvement in my flexibility, and I continue to improve each week. I am enjoying LIFE again!! I am now an advocate for chiropractic and would encourage others to investigate chiropractic. So far, I have had the chance to refer 5 people, and they too report excellent outcomes from Dr. Hoch’s care as well. ~Daniel F.
The world needs less drugs and more focus on correcting the cause, cleaning up diet, and taking care to exercise regularly.
I offer Drug-free solutions to common injuries and illnesses. Becoming a Chiropractor versus a Medical Doctor was a conscious choice in my career path. People don’t become Chiropractors because they didn’t make it into Medical school…on the contrary, some of my classmates were Medical Doctors and Surgeons before entering Chiropractic School. Our common denominator is that we share a basic philosophy about how the body was created. We believe that the body was created perfectly with built in defense mechanisms to defend you from illness and to help you overcome illnesses and injuries. We believe that sometimes the body needs a little ‘adjustment’ in order for the nervous system to do its job coordinating and controlling all those lifesaving and life giving processes at the highest level possible. This means that we correct subluxations in your spine in order to get your nervous system to work better. Often times we are the only practitioners who will tell you that you need to eat better, quit smoking or lose weight so that your internal environment isn’t polluted. We teach our patients about healthy eating habits, ways to support the body nutritionally, and how to speed healing without drugs or surgery. This is the Chiropractic Lifestyle and it’s a lifestyle me and my family subscribe to.
“The doctor of the future will give no medication, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.”
~ Thomas A. Edison
When it comes to self-care (stretching exercises, nutritional supplements, eating correctly, weight management) and wellness care (on-going Chiropractic and Acupuncture that focus on maintaining structural integrity, encouraging mobility and flexibility or even managing pain for chronic conditions) isn’t your LIFE worth a bit of maintenance? I know…I know, your insurance won’t cover it. But your insurance doesn’t cover gym memberships, tennis memberships, golf tee times, spa treatments, haircuts, your laundry bill or your grocery bill either. All these things help keep you healthy, but you have to choose to pay for them. Your body is your house and your physiology is your environment you live in. It is up to you to maintain it.
If you don’t take care of your house, where will you live?
I sell physical medicine, my advice, and expertise: this is how I make my living.
Even though I am in health care, I’m still running a business that I must sustain and I can’t do that without seeing and treating patients. You see, I don’t have a big corporate conglomerate backing me or advertising for me…and I certainly don’t have Big Pharma funneling patients into my office. So, it’s up to me and my staff to promote the business. One way we do this, is we ask you to tell others about your experience under my care. We ask that you tell your story and allow us to re-tell it to others who may be suffering with the same or similar condition. WE ask that you keep our cards on hand, our website bookmarked or that you Like us on Facebook so that you can have information readily available to give to your friends and family if the need and opportunity arises.
But, you should know, I’m not interested in being everyone’s doctor. I may not be a good fit for some patients, or a condition they have may be outside my wheelhouse, and I may have to refer them elsewhere, but that doesn’t mean that another Chiropractor won’t be a good fit.
On that note, here is a short list of conditions I regularly help patients overcome or manage:
- Neck Pain & arm pain, Back Pain, Sciatica, Disc Injuries & Herniation
- Headaches & Migraines
- Sports Injuries of all kinds (rotator cuff injuries, ankle and knee sprains, pulled muscles, wrist and elbow pain, poor muscle recovery).
- Hormonal Issues (PMS, Menopausal Problems, Hot Flashes, Fatigue, weight gain, insomnia).
- Weight Loss
There’s information in the office (brochures) and on the website that covers these conditions and many more.
Now that you know how to refer, here’s how to win by referring others:
- Refer a friend or family member to our practice for a new patient evaluation.
- Tell them when they come to their appointment to tell us that you referred them.
- We will enter your name in a drawing to win a new Apple – iPad® mini !!!
- The first drawing will take place March 13th, 2017.
- The more people you refer, the more chances you have to WIN!
